Fallen Civil War infantryman’s stories come to life in his letters

Sgt. Stephen Taylor Buckson, of the 4th Delaware Volunteer Infantry, didn’t live to tell his Civil War stories. He was killed in June 1864 as Union forces, trying to disrupt supply lines, attacked Confederate defenses near Petersburg, Va. But now, 150 years after the war began, his letters home have returned to his home state as a new gift to the state archives. [link to full article]
