URGENT Action Alert: Subcommittee posts bill that provides NHPRC with only $1 million!!!!

URGENT ACTION NEEDED TODAY!!  The House Appropriations Subcommittee on Financial Services and General Government just posted the bill that includes funding for NHPRC, to be voted on tomorrow, and that bill only includes $1 million in funding for the NHPRC.  This funding level is unacceptable and would cause serious cuts in all of our SHRAB activities and in other records programs. 

If you have a representative on this committee, please, please call or fax that person’s office today and let them know that the NHPRC needs to be fully funded at $10 million.  Also, please have your SHRAB members and other archivists and concerned citizens in your state call today!!

    Because everyone has been so responsive and SO successful at sending emails today, Hill staffers report that their email inboxes cannot keep up with the load. They want to hear from you, but suggest that those who want to contact them switch to the following fax number to deliver letters and messages – otherwise they might not get through:
