Court cases to generate new $5 fee

Rutherford County Circuit Court Clerk Laura Bohling proposes that each new court case require a $5 archives and record management fee. The fee would raise about $69,000 annually to help the county scan case documents into court computers and record them onto microfilm to be sent to the State Archives. Courts here produce about 36 minute books per year, and each contains about 700 pages, Bohling said. [link to full article]
